THE Vairāgya-Satakam is one of the three series of hundred verses which have come down to us under the title of Subhāṣita-trišati (lit. “The happily worded. The verse numbers, as available, correspond to Bhartrihari’s numbering. [A translation of verses from Bhartrihari’s Sanskrit poem Vairagya Shatakam]. Similarly in times of distress every person expect fruits corresponding to them perseverance. Friendship of the evil people is like the shade of earlier part of the day, which shortens continuously.
When, wearing only the Kaupina, Loincloth. And those that sang their praises — They have all been swept away from the memory of man.
But the intellect seems to have got destroyed because of constant usage and search. Byartrihari fish swallows the bait, not knowing the hook inside.
